The chorus provided a full scholarship to our director Craig Page to attend Harmony College East - the three night/two day training provided by the Mid-Atlantic District at Salisbury University over Father's Day weekend.
Steve Armstrong leads one of the general assemblies at Harmony College East.
The chorus was honored to perform for the Flag Day ceremony hosted by the Red Bank Elks at Riverside Garden Park on June 14th.
On the weekend of June 4-6, was held the Barbershop Harmony Society, Mid-Atlantic District, Northern Division Chorus and Quartet Competition. The event was at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Cherry Hill, NJ.
The Chorus of the Atlantic, under the direction of Craig Page, competed and won a 10th place finish with an average score of 60.9%. Our own Matinee Idles, under the direction of John Huetz, performed before the judges at the Northern Division contest for evaluation. They did a marvelous job and gained some valuable pointers at the individualized evaluation sessions held by the three category judges.
Always ready to share the joy of barbershop harmony, these men sang for the 68th Annual Canterbury Fair at St. George's-by-the-River in Rumson on June 11, 2016. The chapter quartet which dubs themselves, Red Bank Quartet (l-r: Herb Van Note, Kirk Thomson, Jack McDermott, and Allan Dean), performed for a large crowd of people at the fair.
The chorus strongly supports and encourages quartet singing. One of our chapter quartets, Reprise, recently toured some of the local Open Mic Nights around Monmouth County. Here they are singing, "Caroline" and "Yona from Arizona" at Ron's West End Pub in Long Branch.
